Sorry that NYC left you a little blah with the ice cream. I do admit we're still waiting for our killer ice cream shop, but there are some great options out there. Sorry you missed out on Cones, Sundaes & Cones, and Il Labratorio del Gelato. Look for my webisode coming out in a week or so about the best ice cream in the city. And let me know next time you're in town and I can try to help you with your search.

Thanks for reading and good luck with your ice cream ventures. What's the name of your company?

I wish I had found you a couple of days sooner!I returned to Eastern Canada yesterday after five days in NYC on a family vacation and a search for great gelato/ice cream.I've started an i.c business a year ago and really wanted some worldclass benchmarks. After trying the BICF,Chinatown Ice Cream Factory,Stogo and finally Screme,I was severly disappointed by all but the last.Chinatown was o.k. but not premium.I agree wholeheartedly with your appraisal of BICF-also tried the peach, along with the strawberry and several others(one benefit of traveling with wife and four kids-multiple flavours!)I'm sure it's out there but we had a limited time and radius.I did leave feeling that I produce a far superior product!!!- good for the morale!

Hee! I love how your picture looks like the ice cream cone is *offending* you!

Great review as always! Since I am highly allergic to nuts and soy, I will have to skip Lula's but, really, medicine-like frozen treats don't sound that appealing anyway. So I'm not too upset!

PS--That fancy new address box is a nice addition to the blog! ;)

Although I think Cones is a little better, I do like Chinatown Ice Cream Factory too. Look for my review in the next few weeks.

Brian,
If you get a chance to get out of the city and go to Connecticut try to get to Rich Farm Daity and Ice Cream Shop outside Oxford, CT. 691 Oxford Road
(Route 67), Oxford, CT 203-881-1040 They have 30+ flavors but the richness and smoothness and taste are to die for! Not to mention the fact that they have their own dairy farm across the road from the shop. That's right, you can SEE the cow that just provided you your ice cream! Novel, quaint, delicious and worth the drive.

Brian,
I enjoyed your mouthwatering review of "Cones" and the I.C. of N.Y. However, I beg to differ with you as to where you can find the best bowl of frozen creme. Yes, it is touristy, but you have to go to the "Chinatown Ice Cream Factory" and savor the pandan ice cream. Where else can you go to enjoy ice cream made from the leaves of a tree grown in Southeast Asia? The mouthfeel is divine, the balance is exquisite and the price is reasonable, too!
